Dealing With Rejection When Dating in Ukraine

There are a lot of guys who are dating in Ukraine. Some of those guys are Ukrainian and some of those guys are foreign men who are seeking Ukrainian women for marriage.

A lot of Western men have this fantasy about marrying a Ukrainian woman. They see themselves signing up for Ukrainian dating sites, finding a match that’s not a catfish, and then going on to marry her and live a beautiful life.

There’s definitely more than a kernel of truth to back that fantasy scenario up; many men have signed up for online dating websites and gone on to marry women in Ukraine and have the white-picket fence life in the suburbs that many people want.

Many guys turn to Ukraine for a partner to build their dream lives for a variety of reasons. Maybe they’re attracted to the culture or maybe they’ve heard rumors of a Ukrainian woman’s beauty. Maybe they’ve been rejected by American women. In any case, a lot of men book a flight and fly out to Ukraine.

But Ukrainian women have their own wants and needs and sometimes, a foreign man does not make the cut. Maybe he’s not tall or handsome enough. Maybe their lives are on different trajectories and she doesn’t want to change the path that she’s on. For whatever reason, a guy can drop thousands of dollars paying for a legitimate online service and a ticket to Ukraine only to end up with a door slammed in his face.

Rejection is not fun to deal with. A significant portion of men who come to Ukraine to find love have dealt with their fair share of it. But having dealt with it in the past doesn’t make it any less of a gut punch to fall in love with someone only to have them turn away from you.

Of course, there are more than a few ways to deal with romantic rejection. These methods are easy to theorize, but the heart wants what it wants, so putting them into practice is going to be a lot harder.

Factors that lead to rejection

One thing that many guys do when they get rejected is to break down. They feel like they’ve fallen short and that they’ve done so because they are lacking.

Well, the truth is that they are lacking in something, but that something which they lack is not something that every woman wants. A girl can reject a guy for not being six feet tall, but another girl might see anything over five-foot-eight as too tall.

A lot of guys end up shooting themselves in the foot when dating in Ukraine or dating anywhere, really. If a woman rejects them for being too skinny, they hit the gym obsessively and get really ripped. But then the next woman they approach rejects them because they don’t want a bodybuilder as a partner, they want someone with a softer body that’s more conducive to cuddling.

Obsessing over one detail is not the way to go when it comes to rejection. Instead of focusing on where you’ve fallen short, focus on where you’ve exceeded. Don’t focus on what you’re missing, but focus on what you have.

Keep in mind that if there are things that you need to work on, then you should work on them. For example, being lazy and unmotivated is a nearly-universal turn-off.

But sometimes, it’s not the guy that has a problem. Sometimes the old excuse of “it’s not you, it’s me” applies. Sometimes, a woman just isn’t in the position to be dating a foreign man or any man.

Not all beautiful Ukrainian girls are looking for marriage and not all of them are looking for the same thing when it comes to marriage.

How to move on from being rejected

Regardless of the motivating factors when it comes to rejection, the fact remains that it still hurts and that not everyone knows how to properly deal with it.

But like anything else in the world, there are a lot of ways to get over someone not liking you back.

Rejection is pretty much a universal experience. Everyone has gone through it in some form; maybe they didn’t make the sports team, get into their dream college, or get a job they really wanted. It’s not anything new in the grand scale of things, even some of the most successful people in the world have faced rejection.

But what did those people do? They picked themselves up and moved on. This is a philosophy that can be applied to dating in Ukraine.
